Scene from Nosferatu with improvised solo bass score

It was a pivotal moment in my life, one that I recall vividly. I’d found a cheap copy of the silent horror classic, Nosferatu in a bargain bin. One night, all alone, I put the film on and was quite surprised to hear music-I’d not bothered to turn the volume down, and as it was a silent film, why would I? The music was Type O Negative, and was just random tracks placed in the movie. But the wheels started to turn toward a single, burning thought: I could do that. It would be many more years before I had the opportunity to revisit Nosferatu. Each performance is improvised-at this stage, Sarah has contributed musical motives and ideas, and like a carriage traveling through the Borgo Pass, I know where I’m going, even if the route changes each time I make the trip.
