33 Year Old KC-10 Extender Final Flight To The Boneyard
After more than 33 years in service, KC-10 Extender number 86-0036 makes its final flight to the Boneyard (309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group) at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, AZ, on July 13, 2020. The flight began at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, and included a ceremonial water bath to mark the first retirement of 59 Extenders intended for eventual replacement by the KC-46A Pegasus.
