Ben Bernie & His Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra - Miss Annabelle Lee, Fox Trot (Sidney Clarke, Lew Pollack, Harry Richman) Brunswick 1927 (USA) NOTE: Ben Bernie (Bernard Anselevitz) - American jazz violinist and composer of “Sweet Georgia Brown“ - which appeared to become one of greatest jazz hits in history - also successfull bandleader of Ben Bernie and All The Lads orchestra (later renamed as Ben Bernie and His Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra). His band belonged, no doubt, to first ten on the list of best American hot dance bands of the Roaring Twenties. Unfortunately, the Great Depression - which Ben Bernie’s band managed to survive, on contrary to many other American dance orchestras - meant for him total alternation of his sound: from the hot-jazzy into a sweet hotel-prom type of music, very much a propos the new trends in post-depression America. Therefore, the most valued among conoisseurs are Ben Bernie’s recordings he made for Vocalion in 1922--1925 and for Brunswick between 1925-
