Protesters Clash with Police as Melbourne Enters 6th Lockdown

Hundreds of protesters marched through the streets of Melbourne in opposition to a snap seven-day Covid lockdown in the state. Victoria’s sixth lockdown had been announced just hours previously by premier Daniel Andrews. The renewed stay-at-home order comes only 10 days after the last lockdown, in response to two new mystery cases. Protesters lit flares, held anti-lockdown and anti-vax banners and chanted “No More Lockdowns!”, to which residents of nearby apartments reportedly shouted “Go home, idiots!”
