OBSERVATIONS: LA BAYADÈRE - Behind the scenes

Take a look behind the scenes of the revival of LA BAYADÈRE! The Bayerisches Staatsballett staged the German premiere of LA BAYADÈRE in 1998 in a production by French choreographer Patrice Bart and Japanese set and costume designer Tomio Mohri. In this video, principal Laurretta Summerscales talks about performing the main role Nikija. Anoosha Shastry, a professional Bharathanatyam dancer, describes the similarities between Indian classical dance and classical ballet. And in addition to words by the choreographer himself, dramaturg Serge Honegger describes relevant aspects about the plot and the history of this ballet classic.
