Part 2: The Story Behind our Record Yield of Morel Mushrooms, Cultivated Indoors in 2023

The Danish Morel Project set a new yield record for cultivating black morel mushrooms in January 2023, achieving 5.6 kilograms per square metre in one of their pallet cultivation systems. This corresponds to a yearly yield of 15.3 kg per square metre. In Copenhagen, Denmark, the biologists, scientists and twin brothers Jacob and Karsten Kirk have invented and developed a method for controlled indoor cultivation of black morel mushrooms (Morchella sp.) all-year-round.
