The Torrent of Mallorca : a biodiverse habitat

Nature is made up of little ecosystems. An ecosystem is a habitat in a defined geographical area based on different parameters: weather conditions, soil type, the animals and plants that inhabit it. In this video, I talk to you about a typical Mallorcan habitat that is vital for many different species: the Torrent. It’s basically a temporary dry riverbed that floods during the rainy season and dries out completely during the drought season. It’s quite extraordinary really! So here is an overview of the plants that you can find in a torrent. But what is fascinating is that the flora changes all the time so what I show you like plants in this video will probably have disappeared in a few months.
