Miss Norway, 1950

Norway’s first “Miss Norway“ was 20 year old Aud Grenes (Grenness) from Oslo, in 1950. She also competed in Miss Europe 1951 in Italy, but did not reach the highest places. In this scene, she was presented for the first time in Oslo as the winner of Miss Norway 1950, and being interviewed. A rather shy girl, not that used with camera, and probably a little confused, as the interviewer started to walk to the right while interviewing her. Time has really changed! Today, beauty contests are more looked upon as an obscure oddity of the past. Think about it: The presentation then is so totally different from the SoMed influencers today, that control camera themselves and behave like they are obvious beauty queens, no matter what people think.
