Russian tragic song – Death of the “Steregushchy“

The “Steregushchy“ was a Russian torpedo boat laid in 1900 at the Nevsky Zavod in St. Petersburg. It was destroyed in 1904 in an unequal battle with four Japanese ships. Descendants have not forgotten the heroic loss of Russian sailors. In 1911, in the presence of Nicholas II, a monument was unveiled to commemorate the feat (see the last photo in the video). The famous name “Steregushchy“ was then assigned to four more ships. At present its carrier is the lead corvette of Project 20380 in the Russian Navy.
