Floral Painting Process | Why can’t I mix this purple?!

Have you ever had a color that you just could not mix? You aren’t the only one. Some mixing issues are a matter of practice, but sometimes it’s not you - it’s your palette. And it’s something that happens to everyone - it’s just rare to hear artists talk about it. So today I wanted to show you the process of making this still life, and dive into what to do when you run into this issue, as well as how to create a palette that sets you up for success. This gets into color theory, which in all honestly is probably about a semester’s worth of content, so I tried to keep it as straightforward as possible, but I get it - it’s overwhelming!
