Route 66’s Guardian Lions

A few miles east of Amboy, CA are two guardian lions in the middle of the desert. They first appeared in 2013 and no one has taken credit for placing them there. It is unknown what they are actually guarding as well. But there they are, sitting silently watching over the desert. Also known as foo dogs, guardian lions always come in pairs, one male and one female. The male is always located on the right as you face them and has a ball under his paw while the female guards her cub.
