Full title reads: “Abingdon. Air-minded at 70! The Vice-Chancellor (the Rev. F. J. Lys) makes first flight to new aerodrome of the Oxford University’s Air Squadron.“ Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The Vice Chancellor of Oxford University, Reverend F J Lys climbs out of an RAF biplane. He is dressed in full flying kit. He is helped out by the pilot and is greeted by a Royal Air Force officer, Air Marshal Sir Geoffrey Salmon. C/U of the Oxford University emblem painted on the side of the plane. The three men walk away from the plane. The Vice Chancellor poses with Lord Londonderry, the Secretary of State for Air and the Air Marshal.
