Preview of ’Peperangan Bintang’ (Star Wars inspired wayang kulit)

‘Peperangan Bintang’ (English: Wars of the Star) is a fusion type of Malaysian wayang Kulit project we started since 2012 where we revive this traditional art by merging it with science fiction story & enhancing it with various multimedia components, yet maintaining the dominant characteristic elements of traditional art. The performance is based on act 1 of A NEW HOPE: The story begins with princess Tuan Puteri Leia’s spaceship is being chased by the evil Shagkala Vedeh, where he believes Tuan Puteri Leia has stolen the secret plan of a deadly weapon which belongs to his empire… Videographer: Leong Kean Hong Sub-title: Azrai Ahmad
