Sauron: Lord of the Earth

KNB121 Animation History and Practices Final assessment (sem2 2013) Please watch in HD. Based off Sauron’s numerous exploits during the First and Second Age. I’ve been wanting to animate some of this stuff since i read the Silmarillion! Also featuring: Melkor, Elrond, Gil-Galad, Finrod Felegund, Beren and Celebrimbor. Had fun putting in Sauron’s various shapes as well. The method used for this was Rotoscoping, using mostly references I filmed myself but also some clips from The Fellowship of the Ring. A grand total of 971 frames. Music: ’Hell’s Batallion’ by Audiomachine Software: Photoshop CS3, Autodesk Sketchbook Express, Adobe After Effects.
