The Banker’s Lamp was an American invention, originally designed for use in banking halls. The first patent for a lamp was filed on May 11, 1909 by the American engineer Harrison D. McFaddin. The original design of the lamp was very simple. The lamp had a brass base that held a shade of green over white glass.
