Iceland Volcano Update, Alert Level Changed, A Geologist Answers Your Questions

The alert level was just changed at Iceland’s Reykjanes volcano, following the latest volcanic unrest. This video will discuss the new hazard map and answer several questions members of my audience have regarding this volcanic system and the town of Grindavik. Topics include more obscure possible hazards, the effectiveness of lava barriers, and my opinion on the odds that a volcanic eruption might occur. Note: Regarding the question in this video I answer that discusses a possible eruption chance; the figure I gave is only for the next two weeks after this video is posted, but this figure becomes invalid if another magma run and dike intrusion occurs.
