Secret Service director hides behind her own agents as Republican senators demand answers

Kimberly Cheatle has some questions to answer, and you can rest assured she’ll do her best not to answer them. The Biden-appointed Secret Service chief cut a pathetic figure during Wednesday’s Republican National Convention, as furious lawmakers demanded an explanation for her failure to protect former President Donald Trump from an assassination attempt. Cheatle cowered behind her own agents before making a hurried getaway, with several Republican senators in pursuit. Eventually Cheatle hid in the bathroom, using her agents to block access to the door. Cheatle has been in hot water following her failure to stop a would-be assassin from shooting at Trump from a rooftop during a rally in Pennsylvania. The excuse she gave for the oversight, that the assassin’s roof was not secured because it was ‘sloped,’ has done little to assuage anger, and calls have increased for her to resign.
