LA Galaxy - MLS Cup 2011 - I Am A Champion - Promontory

This video is dedicated to the MLS Champions Los Angeles Galaxy. In 2011 the team earned the double by winning the Supporter’s Shield and the MLS Cup title. They finished the season with the second best points total in the history of the league; losing only 5 games the entire year and some due to questionable referee decisions. Their success in 2011 has put them in the discussion as being the greatest team the league has ever seen. They were the only MLS team to win their group in the CONCACAF Champions League by overcoming the dreaded “Group of Death“. Bruce Arena won “Coach of the Year“ and became the most successful coach in the league with the MLS Cup win. All-star centerback phenom Omar Gonzalez won “Defender of the Year“. Midfielder David Beckham earned “Comeback Player of the Year“ for returning to a successful full season of play after suffering a torn Achilles Tendon. He then earned the most assists in 2011 as well, but lost the “Silverboot Award“
