IGOR PETROV Coach and Repetiteur • Recipient of the order For Services to the Fatherland, 2nd class • Diploma-recipient at the XII International Festival of Youth and Students (Moscow, 1985) Born in Leningrad. Having graduated from the Leningrad Academic Vaganova School of Dance in 1981 he joined the Mariinsky Ballet where he appeared in productions of Giselle (Hans, Classical Duet), Le Corsaire (Lankedem, Birbanto, “Forban” dance), La Bayadère (Magdaveya), The Sleeping Beauty (Carabosse), Don Quixote (Basilio, Sancho Panza), The Fountain of Bakhchisarai (Vaslav, Tatar Dance), The Legend of Love (Ferkhad’s Friend), Leningrad Symphony (the Youth), The Government Inspector (Lyapkin-Tyapkin), The Creation of the World (Devil), Spartacus (Gaul, Centurions), The Stone Flower (Danila) and Cinderella (Cinderella’s Father; production by Alexei Ratmansky) among others. Since 2007 he has been a teacher and coach with the Mariinsky Ballet, rehearsing roles with Alexander Sergeyev, Konsta
