A New Award is in the Bag for RT Documentary! ‘War Correspondents’, a film by director Artyom Somov, screenwriter Ruslan Gusarov and cinematographer Mikhail Burov, has received a cinematography award at the ‘Rossiya’ documentary film festival. ‘War Correspondents’ has also received the special prize by the Association of television and radio workers. The film shows the work of war correspondents on the front line. They have a target on their backs! Nationalist forces determine the locations where Russian journalists work and shell them. Several-thousand dollar bounties are placed on their heads. Yet the war correspondents come back to the front line again and again. Soldiers accept them as their own. After all, they also sleep in the trenches and spend most of their time on the front line. And sometimes, their words do more damage than shells. Evgeny Poddubny, Murad Gazdiev, Georgy Medvedev and Pavel Kukushkin share their stories in the film.
