In a recent poll that asked Republican voters whom they’d like to see as the party’s nominee in 2024, respondents chose Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by 23 percent over former President Donald Trump. If DeSantis were to become President, he would likely offer all the worst aspects of Trump but without the incompetence that tempered the Trump administration’s capacity to achieve much of anything.
