Full titles read: “DUCHESS OF KENT RENAMES A CRUISER“ L/S of the Duchess of Kent (Princess Marina of Greece) climbing out of a car and being greeted by naval officials as she arrives in Portsmouth. L/S’s of the Duchess walking on board the HMS ’Amphian’ which she to rename the HMAS ’Perth’ for the Australian Royal Navy. L/S of the High Commissioner for Australia Mr SM Bruce inviting the Duchess to rename the ship. The Duchess stands up, gives a short speech and then pulls a cord which sees a flag of the old name being replaced by that of the ’Perth’. The Duchess is presented with a commemorative silver plate.
