He lights a cigarette and sits down to read his newspaper. CU a telephone. The man stops what he’s doing and listens. He puts his paper down and leaves the room. The camera pans back to reveal he’s left his cigarette alight in the ashtray and it’s hanging over the newspaper. The man talks on the telephone. Back in the living room a breeze through the window causes the curtain to knock the cigarette out of the ashtray onto the paper. Unaware, the man is deep in conversation.
