Mein Herz weint !... Herbert Ernst Groh (Berlin 1940 / 4K / Colorized)

The beautiful song “Mein Herz weint !“ (Lit. My Heart is crying) was composed by Leopold Paasch en Evelyn Rehs. The best-known version of this song about lost love is the one recorded by Rudi Schuricke for Imperial in 1940 (Which I uploaded more than 14 years ago : ). Today’s video features the popular Swiss tenor Herbert Ernst Groh (1905-82). He recorded “Mein Herz weint !“ for Odeon accompanied by Otto Dobrindt and his (studio) orchestra. As usual this version is beautifully arranged and executed. The accompanying video features sequences from German movies made between 1938 and 1943. These sequences have been restored, upscaled to a 4K resolution and colorized. The colorization is AI based and NOT historically accurate. It is purely for entertainment purposes. It features actresses such as Zarah Leander, Anneliese Uhlig, Kristina Söderbaum, Luise Ullrich, Marika Rökk, Ingrid Bergman, Ilse Werner... Details can be found in the video. The record was transferred using a Graham Slee Revelation M Phono Preamp (bass Turnover 250 Hz - Rolloff 0) in combination with a Klark Teknik Tube Equalizer and a Rek-O-Kut De-Hisser.
