DRIVE. THE GAME - Gameplay Trailer (2009) [Cancelled PlayStation 2 Game]

The trailer of the game based on the game of the same name “Drive“ found on the Internet The game was a third-person Action game with a main focus on driving various vehicles and periodic skirmishes with shelters. The plot of the game was supposed to reveal the image of the Driver in more detail, focusing on his past, as well as his work in the field of driving and stunt. However, even in the early stages of development, director Nicholas Winding Refn repeatedly criticized the developers for their purposeful emphasis on action and shootouts, as well as excessive cruelty and bloodthirstiness of the main character (whose appearance was given by the actor of the original film Ryan Gosling). Subsequently, Nicholas disowned the project and refused to participate in an advertising campaign to promote the game, as the project strayed too far from the original concept laid down in the film. At the time of cancellation, the game was 60% ready. The exact reasons are unknown, but the PlayStation 2 version could well have been canceled due to technical limitations and the termination of support for the console itself.
