Trekking covers near about 4 Kms from Keylong HQ. The trek begins from Lower Keylong village by descending downward to the bridge over Bhaga river and then ascending upwards after crossing the bridge and gaining elevation till Kardang village , the first base camp for this Trekking . After having rest at Kardang Village , you have to again gain elevation till Kardang Monstery . This monastery was built by Lama Norbu of Kardang Village about 200 years ago . It belongs to Lho-Dug sect of lamastic order . There is 6 feet tall main statue of Lord Buddha made of clay , a statue of Lama Norbu and Padam Sambhava on lotus . You can see Tangyur and Kangyur, the religious books of Buddhism. There is a metal idol lf Lord Avlokiteshwar with many arms and beside this idol there is an idol of Lama Norbu ji who renovated this monastery in 1912 AD. it’s an amazing, beautiful and peaceful place to visit . Jabjes Monastery 👇 This monastery is located at the mid of Kardang Village . Monastery is dedicated to Gyalwa Gochhangwa who came here after a fairy from Gondhla fort . The fairy flew in the form of a pigeon and disappeared here on a big stone . Print of pigeon ‘s toes can be seen here . Print of both knees of Gyalwa Gochhangwa can be seen here over a large stone in the shape of circular bowls . The prints of knees and toes are worshipped here . Foot print of Gyalwa Gochhangwa can also be seen over a big rock at Yordang Monastery above Billing Village . You must visit these monasteries . Remember first visit Jabjes Gompa .
