Plein Air Oil Demo - “Homage to Monet“. I was inspired to paint this piece after reading a book on Monet called “Mad Enchantment“ by Ross King. It is a book about the evolution of Monet’s Water Lily series. Very good highly recommend it. I did this oil on a 6 x 8 inch panel and am extremely happy with it’s outcome. I like how I kept the shadows on the Birch trees “airy“...not too dark. I like the idea of painting water that has natural debris on top like the near the edge of this pond with the weedy grass laying across the water. Enjoy the video!
