Good morning from Alaska! This week I am working on our cabin in the mountains. In this video I am setting the 4 foundation pads for our workshop/power shed. The wood pads are pressure-treaded, and rated for ground contact. This is a very simple foundation, well suited for this location. I don’t like to damage the tundra and prefer to build above it, leaving it almost untouched. This achieves that goal. Over the next couple of weekends I will build the floor system and cover it with plastic in preparation for winter. I plan to build the rest of the structure after winter arrives.
The leaves are changing fast now and winter is definitely on its way. I want to squeeze in a couple of camping trips and take my youngest son on a fall hunt. I will video and share as much of this with you as possible. I think you will enjoy it.
Peace and love to all of you my friends.
