Speaking of must-try dishes in Yunnan, no one could forget about hand pilaf. I made a pretty hearty hand pilaf with 5-colored glutinous rice and some of the ingredients from grandma’s. Whether it’s roasted, fried, cold dish, brewed or pounded, sour or spicy, everything can be mixed up in one big plate, with any vegetables you prefer as well. Use your hands to mix rice with all the side dishes and it’s just amazing. Don’t forget to accompany it with some sweet rice wine. What’s the use of losing weight anyway?
