By delivering this Choral Itinerary to the disc, we wish to fix in time and offer our audience the memory of so many concerts with an anthological programme: a polyvocal overview, therefore, ranging from the 10th to the 17th century, touching on the most diverse and dislocated stations of the choral experience in Europe.
Along with similar themes, con-constant poetic atmospheres are mixed in: the prayer precedes the serenade, the motet alternates with the madriga-le, the Renaissance song prepares the modern song, the burlesque jargon of the musical scherzo bickers with the pensive tone of choral meditation.
In short: sacred love finds its place alongside profane love, if by “sacred’ and ’profane’ we want to comprehensively understand and sing ’affects and effects’ of the divine, the human, nature and the things of the world.
