Wokeness is ‘determined’ to kill off humour

Sky News host Rowan Dean says the “disgusting” cancellation of Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam after a “perfectly harmless gag” proves wokeness is killing off humour. Mr Gilliam recently spoke to the UK Telegraph, where he said Britain is no longer a “nirvana” for him due to woke culture. The comedian was ‘cancelled’ from a directing job at prestigious London theatre The Old Vic after a series of jokes were deemed disrespectful. “The depressing thing about all this is Gilliam’s revelations in the Telegraph interview about how none of the other members of Monty Python came to his support during the witch-hunt against him last year,” Mr Dean said. “None of them. John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin. These were the friends and colleagues with whom he had made some of the greatest comedy in the English-speaking world.”
