Sort Paper Salvage (1943)

Title reads: “M of I - Government Official“. Ministry of Information trailer reminding public to sort through waste paper before sending it to be recycled. Trailer is in form of children’s story. Title in form of book cover. A man’s hand turns the pages of a book to reveal cartoon picture of a walrus and a carpenter. The walrus and the carpenter are seen collecting waste paper from houses. They put the paper into a shredding machine for recycling. The carpenter notices a bulldog clip amongst the paper but it is too late - the clip goes into the machine and breaks it. Sign: “No work today - machine under repair“. CU of various objects that need to be separated from paper waste: string, wire, paper clips, glass etc. MS objects in front of sign: “Don’t mix these with your paper“. End title: “Sort Your Salvage“.
