Make a cut around the branch about 1/3 of the way through. The cut should be about 1 inch long. Carefully peel back the bark and cambium layer, exposing the raw wood. Apply of aloe Vera to the exposed wood. Insert the cup into the branch. than Secure the plastic cup with zip tie or twine. Then fill the cup with cocopeat. Soak the cocopeat and use it so that no water is needed later. Because cocopeat can retain water for a long time. In about 4-6 weeks, roots should begin to form. Once the roots are at least 2 inches long, you can cut the branch below the air layer and plant it in a pot or in the ground. Be patient and wait for the roots to develop fully before cutting the branch from the parent tree. Once you have planted the air-layered guava branch, it is important to water it regularly and fertilize it every few weeks. With proper care, your new guava tree should start to produce fruit within a few years.
