Simple DIY Steampunk Skirt

Hello Everyone! Today I’m making a steampunk inspired skirt for my costume by altering a simple peasant skirt. Looking online the kind of skirts I wanted were so expensive and the style is so simple to make I immediately knew I’d rather sew my own. I picked up a simple, long peasant skirt at a thrift shop and simply stitched through the tiers in two straight lines up towards the waste. Tie the strings and reinforce the stitches and that’s it. So simple! The whole project took less than 20 minutes start to finish and when paired with these awesome leggings from Amazon, the look is on point. I don’t have the rest of my costume finished yet, but I really like how the skirt turned out. As I mentioned in the video, the leggings aren’t quite as vibrant in real life as they are in the picture online, but I do like them. If you’d like to pick up your own pair I’ll link them below.
