Farmers protest: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau expresses concern, says in touch with Indian authorities
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said supported the farmers’ protest in India saying “Canada will always be there to defend the rights of a peaceful protest“. He also confirmed that Canada is in talks with Indian authorities over the farmers’ issue. During an online event to mark the 551st Guru Nanak Jayanti, Justin Trudeau said, “The news coming out of India about the protest by farmers. The situation is concerning and we’re all very worried about family and friends.“ “I know that’s a reality for many of you. Let me remind you, Canada will always be there to defend the rights of peaceful protest,“ he added.
