Russia’s Su-25 Frogfoot Is Still A Fearsome Attack Aircraft

The conflict in Ukraine has seen a significant deployment of military equipment. This crisis underscores the enduring relevance of older technology in military operations, particularly in the realm of airpower. Both sides are using nearly identical aircraft of former Soviet Union origin, with the Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot attack aircraft prominently featured. Despite no longer being in serial production, the Su-25, which took its maiden flight in 1975, remains a crucial asset in Russian ground-attack squadrons and continues to see active service in several countries across the globe.
