Traffic Light Tree, Billingsgate Market, London. Location: , Date Filmed: 13-01-2018 Located on a roundabout outside Billingsgate Market, London, created by a French artist Pierre Vivant, made for an art competition. The “tree“ consists of 75 individual sets of Mellor PAGE 1990s Traffic Lights, all controlled from a Peek Controller and includes filter arrow lights and pedestrian signals. All the signals have been designed in a green colour to give the artwork characteristics of a tree. The artwork tree was originally located on a roundabout in Canary Wharf, installed in 1998 to replace the site of a polluted tree on the roundabout. In December 2011, it was removed, following re-modelling and work on the Canary Wharf site roundabout. The council re-installed the structure between 11th November and 11th December 2013 at its new and current location.
