Antique Bronze Token, Reconstruction of Le Havre France, By Esteoule 1953

It’s a very rare bronze token from 1953 Le Havre France. During the WWII, the port of Le Havre was used by the British army. In the 1940, it was began the first German bombardments and during the war the city has almost completely destroyed. After WWII, the reconstruction action has begun. This medal is probably produced for the support to help finance to rebuild the city in 1953. There are lovely handmade pictures carved in both side. In the picture of one side; there is a big vessel in the sea, a windmill at the left shore and harbour and buildings on the other side of the shore. At the top side of medal there is a line as; LE HAVRE RECONSTRUIT. There is a signature carved at the bottom side of the medal as; ESTEOULE. And in the picture of other side; There is line at the top as; “CAISSE DE CREDIT“, the emblem of Le havre city and “1953“ at the center, and a line as “DU HAVRE“.
