Prairie dogs are burrowing rodents that live in the grasslands of North America. The five species are: black-tailed, white-tailed, Gunnison’s, Utah, and Mexican prairie dogs. They are herbivorous and mainly eat grass as well as seeds. Similar to rabbits, prairie dogs are deemed as pests to some but pets to others.
