Moons of Madness is a very interesting horror game in many different ways. First it takes part in a larger crafted world and lore that is part of the Secret World mythos. Secret World is a MMORPG set in modern times with many horror- and Lovecraft themes and elements. Another game that is set in this same world is the game The Park. But Moons of Madness is the most ambitious standalone game within this setting as we are part of a science crew stationed on Mars. We do our daily chores and repairs around the station, but we are noticing that strange things occur around us each day. The cool thing about this game is that it mixes the feeling of a movie like The Martian with the horror of a Lovecraft story. The game is not constantly horror focused or scary and there are plenty of moments where you are just enjoying your time on Mars and need to figure out how to solve puzzles without worrying about something scary.
