Flying Joby’s Electric Air Taxi with a Pilot On Board

We recently expanded our flight test program to include flying with a pilot on board our aircraft, a key step towards commercial operations of our electric air taxi. Four members of Joby’s flight test team have now piloted flights on board our pre-production prototype aircraft, completing a series of initial tests that include thrustborne hovers and forward transitions to semi-thrustborne flight. This testing, which took place in Marina, California, complements ongoing flight testing at Edwards Air Force Base, where both Joby and US Air Force pilots will demonstrate the aircraft’s capabilities in realistic operating scenarios.
