Full title reads: “Newmarket. Mere Man ... also ran! Miss Gladys Waldron - on ’Journey’s End’ - wins historic race for Town Plate, only one in which women compete with men. Veteran F Simpson - winner 17 times - only man finished unplaced!“ Newmarket Race Course, Suffolk. Pan along line of women jockeys before the race.
