Uganda | The Other Way

Uganda was described as “The Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill when he visited in 1907, and this expression continues to be used by tour operators and Ugandans themselves, simply because there’s no better way to put it !! Less touristy than the usual African safari hotspots of Kenya, South Africa & Tanzania (perhaps because Uganda is landlocked), but you can see the Big 5 - and lots more in the 10 National Parks. Of course Uganda is famous for being the source of the Nile, plus hosts the Murchison Falls, reportedly the most powerful in the world. Kampala, the capital is a typically bustling African city yet safe, friendly and everyone no only speaks English but are delighted to see tourists - without automatically wanting to see you something !! Uganda is a destination with a difference - I can’t believe that it took me so long to get here.
