His eyes are usually covered by huge eyelids and eyelashes, which he cannot raise unaided. The story “Viy“ was written by Nikolai Gogol in the middle of the 19th century based on Slavic superstitions and legends. This story is considered one of the main and most horror works of Gogol. The fate of Gogol is a bit similar to the fate of Edgur Alan Poe. Gogol essentially created the genre of Russian Gothic in literature. Just like Po, Gogol suffered from various mental disorders, and his death is still a mystery. We shot a video for the track “Viy“ about Gogol, about his creative suffering and fate. As a melody in the track, there is music that I heard one of the Sundays passing by the Orthodox Church. The bells on the church played a melody and I wanted to reproduce this music in my variation and I recorded it on a phone recorder.
