Digitized Speech in NES Games - NintendoComplete

A sampling of some of the more (and some of the less) notable instances of digitized speech found in 8-bit NES games. The games shown are listed below. I did as a fun exercise to satisfy a weird curiosity I had. I wanted to see how many games I’ve played used digitized clips of actual speech for more than just death grunts or attacking noises (so that’s why there is no “Ya!“ from Ninja Gaiden III and the like). I did make one exception, though - American Gladiators was far too gratuitous to not include. Just a warning: while some of these sound fantastic, some of them are ear-bleedingly awful. You’ll know them when you hear them. Hope you enjoy it!
