45-70 Hard cast bullets vs 12 gauge slug - Shooting Soft Targets At The Range - A Mess ! ! !

A lighter take on the 45-70 vs 12 gauge slug debate . . . or 45-70 vs. anything else for that matter! Sure, we vaporized a few two liter sodas with slugs and 405 grain hard cast bullets, but there’s there’s a lot more. And I get to show off a couple of my favorite firearms . . . my lever action Winchester Model 1886 and Winchester Model 12 pump shotgun. Both fantastic designs from the drawing board of legendary gun designer John Moses Browning. My 1886 in 45-70 is a modern Winchester remake from 2005, but the Model 12 is from 1950, the year I was born. But what made the biggest mess? The slug, or that 45-70? You’ll have to check out the melon slow motion to know for sure. But the biggest question is, how did I survive the 102 temps! Thanks for watching!
