Tim Henson of Polyphia: Redefining the Boundaries of Guitar Playing

In today’s episode I interview Polyphia guitar virtuoso Tim Henson. In 2010, Henson and fellow guitarist Scott LePage formed Polyphia, which also includes drummer Clay Gober and bassist Clay Aeschliman. The band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of technical proficiency, catchy melodies, and experimental approach to music. They released their debut EP, Inspire, in 2012, and their first full-length album, Muse, in 2014. Since then, Polyphia has released several more albums, including Renaissance (2016), New Levels New Devils (2018), and SHBOS (2021) and their latest album Remember That You Will Die (2022). Henson is known for his virtuosic guitar playing, incorporating a wide range of techniques and styles into his playing, including alternate picking, legato, and tapping. He has also become known for his use of unconventional time signatures and unconventional guitar tunings. SUBSCRIBE HERE → Catherine Sundvall Clark Griswold Rya
