“In the late war all combatants made extensive use of carrier pigeons. Elaborate gear is provided today in the German service to secure efficiency.“ L/S of man in a great coat standing in a field with a truck travelling towards him. M/S of the truck passing the camera. Men in German uniform open the side door of the truck. The words “. Spandau“ are painted on one of the doors of the truck. The door is folded back to reveal pigeons inside. One of the soldiers goes into the truck whistling at the birds. C/U of the two soldiers putting pigeons into a carrying box. The box is placed into the sidecar of a motorcycle and driven off. C/U of a carrier pigeon being shoved inside a bag which is strapped to the chest of one of the German soldiers.
