Overview of the E-Cat EV Test in Latina, Italy (September 27th, 2024)
A short video explaining the E-Cat EV Test that took place on September 27th, 2024 in Latina, Italy.
Test protocol:
On September 27th, 2024, at the International Circuit of Latina, “Il Sagittario“, racetrack in Latina, Italy, Leonardo Corporation held a presentation of its E-Cat SKLep NGU technology.
The expert responsible for validation was Engineer Maico Marzocchi, an independent specialist in electronic engineering, and an expert specifically of the Renault Twizy electric vehicle. The E-Cat used in this test was installed by him in his own Renault Twizy EV, independently from Andrea Rossi.
Also In attendance were: Andrea Rossi, CEO of Leonardo Corporation, Professors Guglielmo D’Inzeo, and Neri Accornero, both of the University La Sapienza of Rome.
CEOs and researchers from Italy, the USA, Germany, Japan, Canada and the United Kingdom were also in attendance. For security reasons, the attendance at the test was restricted to persons deeply involved in the activity, and the date and location have been kept confidential until now, when video documentation has been placed online. Access to the racetrack during the day of the test was protected by security professionals.
The presentation consisted of a comparison between two electric vehicles, both were the Renault Twizy 80. One of the cars had no modification, while the other car had installed in it an assembly of E-Cat power modules, along with associated electronic circuits that connected to the battery of the EV to allow for continuous charging.
The purpose of the test was to show that E-Cat technology can continuously charge the battery of an electric vehicle continuously while it is driving.
Prior to the test, the state of charge of each of the cars’ batteries was measured. The unmodified car had a starting battery charge of per cent. The car with the E-Cat on board started with a charge of per cent.
Also, prior to the test, each of the cars was weighed. The unmodified car weighed 513 kg, while the E-Cat car weighed 611 kg.
The difference in weight was due to the E-Cat and its associated equipment on board The E-Cat car. The weight can be broken down as follows:
The circuitry designed by engineer Maico Marzocchi that connected the power produced by the E-Cat to the battery weighed 10 kg;
The E-Cat itself, and associated components weighed 8 kg
A Steel Box containing the E-Cat and its associated components weighed 80 kg.
The E-Cat and components were placed inside a fireproof and explosion-proof box as a necessary safety precaution to prevent possible damage if there were any explosion or fire.
The batteries of each car were identical, they were the original batteries of the Renault Twizy 80, each weighing 110 kg.
The two cars began the test at the same time 10:45 am, driving about 200 meters apart around an approximately 600 m circuit of the racetrack. The unmodified car was driven by an employee of Leonardo Corporation. The E-Cat powered car was driven by Andrea Rossi and Maico Marzocchi, who traded driving duties. The only time the E-Cat car stopped during the test was for a few seconds every 90 minutes in order for drivers to be exchanged.
After 2 hours and 20 minutes, the unmodified car stopped running, due to its battery being fully depleted. It had driven 73 km in total. The E-Cat powered car continued to drive until pm when it was determined that the test was concluded. This car had driven 201 km.
At the end of the test, the state of charge (SOC) of each car’s battery was taken again. The unmodified car had a charge of 0 per cent. The E-Cat powered car had a state of charge of 83 per cent, which is 33 per cent higher than when the test started.
We can conclude from the test that E-Cat technology has the ability to maintain a charge in a battery, and even increase it over time, without being connected to any external fuel or energy source.
