What happened in Japan! The frightening eruption of the Sakurajima volcano!

On Wednesday, February 8, another eruption of the Sakurajima volcano, located in southwestern Japan, began. The eruption occurred in Showa Crater, the first since April 2018. It was observed at 10:52 local time, and the plumes rose to a height of more than 1000 meters. The local meteorological observatory has maintained a warning of a volcanic eruption at level 3 on the scale, which has five levels. People are asked not to approach within a radius of 2 km from the crater of the volcano, and also to monitor ejections of volcanic rocks and pyroclastic flows. The volcano is dangerous, as it is located 9 km from the city of Kagoshima, which is home to 600,000 inhabitants. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
